I think it's an innacuracy on behalf of the webmaster. It will automatically convert whatever GPA you put in the unweighted section to a 4.33 scale rather than a 4.0 scale. In reality, there are few people for whom this would make a great difference (different between an A and an a+), but it seems the webmaster decided it necessary to bump EVERYONE up. :P
Maybe it's a coding error? |

I guess so. Haha. Your explanation is partially correct.
I decided to standardize everyone to a 4.33 scale because there are so many different GPA systems. It is just to make it easier to compare accounts. If one operated on a 6.0 scale and another operated on a 5.0 scale, our site stats would be all messed up. |

i understand the need to standardize, but it doesn't work for my school (and many others) that do not distinguish between As and A+s. |

Wait, why don't you just write it as out of 4? Then, it'll automatically convert out of 4.33 on its own. That's what I did. |

There was also a small coding error because I typed 4.3 instead of 4.33 on one of the codes. This bug has been fixed. |

mehhh: The problem is that the current code bumps up EVERYONE an average of .2-.3 points, but in reality the number of people for whom the 4.33 scale would make a difference is very small.
For instance, your grades are all B+s and on the 4.0 scale this is a 3.4. Now, if it were a 4.33 scale, this would STILL be a 3.4. The only people who should be affected by the change are usuaully the top 5 to top 10 percent of a class.
By the way, webmaster, I love this site (I've become addicted) and I'd love to help you out if you need anything. I don't know much about coding outside of Java, C++, and HTML though. I am highly proficient in photoshop though, but I think the site is fine as it (especially in regard to the simple, sleek interface). Anyway, shoot me an e-mail at hvsahin@comcast.net if you feel like it. |

the GPA is different because when you view your own profile, it's out of a 4.33 scale, but when you filled out the form, you typed in what your actual GPA is out of your own schools scale. Therefore, everyone you view will have the scale your school has to make it easier for you to compare and review their GPA.
for example, my school scale is out of 5.9 (which is 100 in all AP classes), so when I review other people, their GPAs are converted to fit my 5.9 scale, but when I view myself, it is out of the automated 4.33
I don't look at GPAs that much because they are all different and confusing and calculated differently. I focus more on the other areas of the applicant. |

Yea. Your profile is always set to a 4.33 scale because the link option allows you to give your profile link to outsiders (who have no data in our systems). So I got lazy and put all that to 4.33. |
