webmaster What do u mean? It's not much different from a regular school.
Being an international student makes it more difficult to get in though.

FutureDoctor I'm at an IB school. Colleges are willing to let you skip freshman year and give you sophomore standing.

It looks good, but in the long run, I don't think it's worth it.

kinghuds How would it not be worth it...its no more work than a regular diploma...just harder classes. I don't see the downside here.

FutureDoctor No....it's a lot more work..You take worthless classes..you take the IB tests and PASS for each subject...you do Internal Assessments for EACH class, you write the IB Essay.....

So yes..it's a lot more work than a non-IB diploma.

kinghuds 1. I'm taking the same classes that I would have normally, IB tests are no harder than AP tests, the internal assessments are an essay or two and a few presentations....no harder than normal work I would do. The IB essay is only 4000 words, spread over 2 years, it is cake.

If you think this is hard work.....have fun in college.

FutureDoctor No..trust me..you'll get screwed over easily with the IB diploma...Have fun ruining your high school career!

FutureDoctor Actually..I may have been a little harsh...

First of all..IAs are NOT "an essay or two/presentations"...you will honestly fail them if that's what you think.

Second of all..Extended essay.....NOT CAKE AND IT'S NOT OVER TWO YEARS

and NO you will not have the same classes you would take normally...and IB tests are MUCH harder than AP tests...

so if you think you're naturally smart and can easily ace the diploma with no work..you're COMPLETELY wrong...

kinghuds Are you in the program? Because I am and its really, really, not even close to how you describe it.

IB classes are the highest level of classes at our school, so I would take them no matter what, I only have to take Theory of Knowledge which is an easy A class anyways. The Extended Essay is starts in junior year and is due in senior year, so about 2 years to finish it. I took the IB Chem test and get scores back on July 6th so we'll see about that then. And yes the IAs are that easy, except english beacuse I just suck at that crap.

kinghuds Extended Essay is the same everywhere.
IB tests are the same everywhere.
IAs are the same everywhere (except the specific topics).
So the only thing that could be different is the difficulty of the class really.
